Hi, don't be fearful of the amount of hip resurfacings your surgeon has done. My only did slightly more than 50, but I still went with him. Your comfort level is probably the biggest indicator as well as your confidence level. You are right about there are not enough surgeons to choose from due to the FDA approval only being since May 2006. Also, there are many surgeons still not on the bandwagon with resurfacing. Where did you surgeon train? Mine was trained in Birmingham, England, with Mr. Treacy. It may help you with your decision if you find out where your surgeon trained.
Good luck and keep us posted on your recovery. I am now just a few days shy of 3 weeks postop and feel wonderful. The pain is gone and I am most pleased with the outcome.
