I am scheduled for a bi-lat this March and would really appreciate any info you could share. I am excited about the finish line, nervous about the journey.

I'm considering bilateral resurfacing (simultaneous) and would be interested in the information you have and details on the first two weeks post op.
i just had a hip resurfacing of right hip nearly two weeks ago. curious to know how long i might expect to experience pain in the joint itself. the incision is healing well, but i am surprised to be experiencing pain with each step in the joint. am i expecting too much? thanks for any feedback.
I have also, had HR by Dr. Vail; one year today. I was 54 and had always been active. I am back to biking hiking, etc. I am a Nurse, and tried to be a compliant patient. I started riding my bike with in a month of surgery. Every thing is great! I almost forgot which hip it was. not pain. However, the only thing I experience is a weird clunk feeling (not that it moves out of place or actually makes a noise); just weird, especially after I worked out. does this sound familiar?
betty,
i'm scheduling with dr. vail
myself.I have many questions about suggery, recovery etc.Would you consider a phone conversation. I'm trying to figure out how long until i can get back to work
Hi! New to the site. I need a bilat. resurfacing. My physician does not feel comfortable with resurfacing both at one surg. I am 40 y/o and think I could definitely do this. Should i look for another physician? -Steve
hello am having bilateral in 4 days. how long before it is possible to work from home. were you able to use the stairs when you arrived home. I do have lots of questions. I am 48 year old female- competitive runner and tennis layer tlll pain became to great. I was hoping pain meds would be shortlived too.thanks chris
Hello,
I too had bilateral resurfacing two years ago.
I was 44 years old then.
I am right now 10 days recovering from left hip birmingham conversion to total hip replacement. I had loss of blood supply to the bone which caused bone death and loosening.
I am much more comfortable and mobile than I was with having two hips done at once.
