I used Dr. Rector in Boulder.I feel the BHR surgery which occurred on April 22, 2010 gave me a 2nd chance at an athletic life. It used to take me 30 or more seconds to stand up out of a chair. 5 days post op today. I am home, getting around on crutches pretty well. I
actually just tried one crutch so I could carry my cup of coffee over to the
computer and did real well! That was exciting.
My surgery went flawlessly according to Dr. Rector. He is awesome. If anyone

I live in a somewhat small town. I went to a surgeon here in town that did
my mom’s THR. He took x-rays and told me what my problem was (I had been

what was wrong was a big accomplishment. I did an injection and that only
lasted about 1 month. Although this surgeon did a … Read the rest
Lori’s Hip Resurfacing with Dr. Rector 2011
I was 36 when I was diagnosed with OA. It was quite an emotional process for me. The first ortho suggested that I modify my life and take pain pills. He suggested no impact sports, so no hiking, walking, stairs and to try low impact sports like swimming and biking. I liked his ideas, until I could not hold my baby and walk … Read the rest

Surgery went fine yesterday. Pain is not bad at all, just stiffness and limited range of motion. Walked the hall (with walker) without problems. Everyone here at Boulder Community Hospital is great and I’m looking forward to heading home to Wyoming tomorrow morning. Thanks everyone for all of the positive support.

I leave for Boulder tomorrow for surgery with Dr. Rector on Wed., Aug. 26th. I thought I would be nervous but I’m still excited. I am just really looking forward to walking without pain. I imagine the nervousness will set in eventually but so far I’m still looking forward to it.
