Title: Perthes and BHR
Post by: brian k on April 21, 2009, 12:31:56 AM
I just had a consultation with Dr. Su at HSS. After review of my x-rays he concluded that even with the degenerative condition of my right hip due to complications from Legg Calve Perthes I have an 80% possibility of being able to receive a BHR. The only catch is that he wil not know until he is in there. This is a scary thought. Has anyone else been in this situation? I want a BHR nor a THR

Hi,

I had a slipped epiphysis and my surgeon said the same.  He was able to perform the resurfacing which is great.

I was at the stage where I could manage my work and no more.  Walking was really bad and sore after about 5 minutes and I had a really bad gait where I through my pelvis forward at one side as the hip was not functioning.  This is also now corrected which is wonderful.

Feel free to pm me if you want any more details.
