Title: Rt BMHR
Post by: phillipl on June 25, 2009, 11:45:49 PM
Hi all,

Well I'm 4 days post op. Just got home from the Hospital this morning. Lots of swelling and my hip looks like I have been hit by a truck!. However all's going well and I'm looking forward to the future.

Congratulations on your completion of the surgery! Now the fun begins!  :)
You will, I think, after a sometimes brutal 2 weeks, have marked improvement. Many times it is hard to see the improvements, but they are there! I am 4 weeks & 2 days out, and am just beginning to transition to a cane from a walker. Everyone has their own pace. I am being careful. Good luck!

Thanks skyc6,

The swelling and bruising has been the worst to endure. The bruise extends from the hip to down past the knee. Unfortunately, the anti-coagulants don't help things, however due to a previous DVT my doctor is being cautious.  I know things will improve with time.... just one step at a time!

I'm glad you are on the road to recovery. Let me know how you get on.
