Hi
Welcome to hip talk. Everyone's recovery is different, but it is unusual that you can't put your full weight on a resurfaced hip that is over 3 months post op. Does the hip hurt when you put weight on it or are your muscles too weak. There is a difference. What seems to be causing your problem.
Does it hurt if you sit long or when you are laying down. Do you walk a lot? Are you still using a crutch or cane.
I would be concerned if you are still having pain and can't walk, but again, I don't know your background. I am also not a doctor and can't give you advice.
Who did your resurfacing and what device did you get. Where do you live. You might want to get a consult with a really experienced hip resurfacing surgeon for some more input.
Everyone is different and some people take a long time to heal, especially if they had difficult problems before their resurfaicng. Age is not always the determing factor.

Hey Roy,
Were neighbours mate, I have only just moved from kidderminster. Like Pat said we all recover on different time lines, I was not super fast with my recovery but I am now eight months and doing as well as I could ever hoped for. Although improvements are daily, I did notice some bigger improvements all of a sudden a few times.
Do you do daily PT, that should help, but obviously make sure you take advice what you can do..
My business is in Kidderminster, if you fancy a coffee, we can get together and we can swap stories.
Best wishes mate
Terry
