It's been 19 months since my right resurfacing, 8 months since my left.
They work better than I expected.
Just got home from a 1,400 mile dual sport ride in Baja, lots of remote dirt riding, flat tire, crazy cactus and the best tacos I've ever eaten!
There is lots of life left after surgery ;D
Hi Clydascope
That sounds like hell of an adventure (I'm a little jealous). I used to do a bit of off roading, but knee pain put a stop to that a year or so back. I still ride on the road though (past tense at moment). I was wondering how everything felt after (if) taking a tumble on the dirt, I'm pretty scared of falling on my new hip? I have been doing a few track (road circuits) days each year for the last 13 years or so, but thought I'd have to give them up now (some nodder took me out on a track day about 1 month prior to having my op, no physical damage to me just £££'s worth to bike and kit), just wondered what your take on falling is. I know everyone says to avoid it at all costs. I have seen some stories on this site about people doing martial arts, they must take a few falls!! I know, that I perhaps should give up bikes all together (my wife has been trying to get me to for the last 22 years), but hell you have to live a bit... Thats the point of having the op.. Don't want to end up with a THR though!

Hi Clydascope
Glad to hear those hips are doing great. Thanks for posting. Makes all of us want to get out and go biking!
Good Luck and let us know how you are doing now and then.
Pat
So far I have not fallen from the motorcycle with my new parts. I really don't want to know how it will feel either. I figure skiing this winter will give me a change to experience that.
Here are a few shots from the trip...

Wow that is awesome, that sounds like so much fun I would love to do that someday, I love Baja. How long ? Mostly dirt or main roads ?
hotels every night or do you do the middle of nowwhere tent deal as well ? Man that sounds fun...
We were in Mexico for 9 days, rode every day.
All nights in hotels/cabanas but had emergency camping gear.
About 400 miles in the dirt.
Took one layover day at Alphonsina's in Gonzaga.
In and out through Tecate, as far south as San Ignacio and as remote as San Francisquito or Mission San Borja.

This an annual deal ? I remember you posted about this before ? Sounds like something I should try someday, I find the longer I stay in Baja, the easier it is ;D
It was my second trip to Baja.
Last time I rode solo to Cabo, before the surgeries.
Feels like I've come full circle in a way.
