Title: Questions concerning Dr. Stephen Raterman in Tampa
Post by: Dayton96 on August 11, 2010, 06:11:29 PM
I'm considering having Dr. Raterman do my hip resurface and I was wondering if anyone out there could give me an idea of what to expect.  For instance, what was the hospital like?  How long were you in the hospital?  What kind of restrictions did you have?  Were there any issues with the HR that showed up a year or two years after the surgery?  One of his office staff told me he did both posterior and anterior approaches.  Which approach did he use with you and why?  The staff member did not know why or when he used different approaches.  She also did not know his infection rate or revision rate.  I left my number and she said he would probably get back to me later in the week.  She also did not know how many HR he had performed, but claimed he was among the top three surgeons in the country in the number of HR performed.  I think that is unlikely, but perhaps he is in the top three for BHR performed.  Any information on Dr. Raterman would be appreciated.
