Well, at this time tomorrow, I'll be at the hospital, about to get my shiny new hip installed. After 22 years of pain from torn cartilage, dysplasia and arthritis, I'm more than ready. I can't wait to sleep comfortably and without waking up several times a night, drive a car without being in agony, and to sit in more than one comfortable position. Mostly, I can't WAIT to get back in shape, and maybe even start running again!
I'll post when I'm on the other side, and tell you all about my recovery. :D

Well, good luck to everyone, as they say in the Hollywood industry, "break a leg"... my surgery is tomorrow at 10:20 PST in San Francisco. I must say I am ready for a change after 2 1/2 years after my injury... I have tried it all, but hopefully the BHR, rather than the THR, will provide for a new quality of life... I will keep you posted as soon as I have a way....here's to a new life! :)
Good luck Renee and June ::)
I'm 19 days out of surgery (RBHR) and can't believe how well my new hip feels. The first two weeks were pretty tough, painful and uncomfortable, but now I feel amazing. I just returned from a quick paced hour long walk, and although I'm still using my cane, there were a handful of flat sections where I took 50 steps unaided.
Let us know how you're doing ~ Erik
Good luck! I had mine on Oct. 20th. Like Eric, first 2 weeks were the toughest. Now I feel great! Went to the mall with the wife and walked a lot. Still on cane, but really starting to Walk smoothly. Hip moves more freely. I am so pumped! Like you, can't wait to all movement with no restrictions. Pay attention to your care giver and follow all Doc directions. I consider myself In the dangerous area now feelIng good, but with all restrictions still on. You always have to be aware of how you move, sit, etc. This is the beginning of our new life without pain and mobile once again!
Best of luck Renee and June. I'll be joining you next month.
