Post by: Dan Pop on December 19, 2007, 03:43:37 PM
I have a bad hip and will be seeing a surgan in Jan. I now have a sore Knee on the same side . Is this a problem associated with the hip?

Hi Dan

The bad hips throw your whole body out of wack.  Most of us that had hip problems also have knee and back problems.  You opposite hip also takes a beating from your bad hip by trying to compensate for it.

You are not alone with your many aches and pains.

The doctors normally say after you have your hip resurfacing, your back, other hip and knees should eventually get better.  They do for many people, but continue to cause problems for others.

I would wait until you have really recovered from your surgery to see how your knee is going to do.

Good luck and stay in touch.

Pat

Hi Dan
I had my BHR 16 days ago and my Knee pain is gone. I was getting shooting pains under the Knee cap. Hopefully your's will be gone also.

I have experienced knee pain as well with my bad hip.  My other hip also gets sore.  And then my husband wonders why I'm grouchy most of the time........I am so looking forward (and hoping) that I get back to feeling better and can WALK again!
