I’m almost a week late posting this but…better late than never I guess.
Back in December and January when I was seriously contemplating this journey we are all on, one of my main concerns was that I HAD to attend my nephew’s wedding on April 29 in Park City, UT - exactly seven weeks after my RBHR. Between my two brothers, my sister and myself he's the first of nine nieces and nephews to tie the knot. At the time I really wasn’t sure if seven weeks would be enough time to recover sufficiently. Even after reading all the miraculous recovery stories I figured I wouldn’t be ready to travel for at least a couple of months.
Looking back I guess my concerns were, if not unfounded, at least a little exaggerated. I really had no problems. When we left Long Beach airport last Thursday it was about 80 degrees. The next night in Park City I had to scrape about 5 inches of snow off the rental car!!
I got the full public feel up, pat down in Long Beach on the way out. Salt Lake City has the new scanner so I just had to stand inside and raise my hands.
Here I am going for a walk in my sister’s neighborhood. I didn’t really need the ski pole, but it helped a little.

Here’s our new friend that we met during our walk.

Here’s the church where the wedding took place.

My next goal is a round of golf…
That's awesome. Sounds like you had a great time :)
It's a good day when you realise the concerns you had were a little over exaggerated and things turn out great :D
(It's happened to me a few times now and always a pleasant surprise)
Whoo HOO!!! You go, Mike! That's a really great story. I like your new little friend. Reminds me of the donkey we met on a long bike tour down in central Florida. But what's he doing loose like that??
Congrats on a major accomplishment!

It looks like a donkey in the picture but it's actually...a moose!! :o
Apparently because of the relatively long and snowy winter they are starting to come down from the mountains to look for food, and they're eating peoples' daffodils that are starting to pop up. The closest thing we have is gophers.
Congratulations Mike. Good story and nice photos.

Congrats Mike. It seems that you've got a 4-leg new friend...
Good News Mike! Glad everything went well. Handsome new friend ;D
Have fun.
