Hi,
My x rays have been evaluated via e mail by top BHR surgeons. Based upon x ray, I have been advised to hold off a bit since I was in an early arthritic phase although MRI results show chondral and labral damage.
In the near future, I will be a candidate for a BHR.
Pain/discomfort wise, I am getting gradually worse.
MRI Results
FAI- CAM
chronic non displaced tear of anterior labrum with ganglion cyst
Anterior labrum is degenerated with no tear
Superior posterior labrum is not torn
Focal 1.27cm (anterior - posterior) full thickness chondral loss
over rthe superior and posterior superior parafoveal margin of the
femoral headassociated with no acute proud subchondral bony remodeling 12:00 - 2 PM sagittal view
Adjacent cartilage demonstrates moderate to high grade partial thickness chondral thinning
Questions:
I agree with the surgeon of my status so do I need to consult with him now or wait until sypmtoms worsen?
I just had an initial x ray and MRI this month; how long should I wait until getting another x ray? 6 months, 1 yr?
Thanks
depends on your pain threshold i guess ...
maybe u should have them every 3 mnths and listen to your body, it will tell you when its time im sure ..
cheers Paul
I guess I can ask my physiatrist prior to my September consult with Dr Su.
The consensus I am getting is between 6-12 months unless symptoms dramatically increase.
Thanks
Hey, GibleT88,
I have had x-rays every two months since my surgery on November 8, 2010. Pain has continued and I want to make sure that I am healing properly 9 months out... I know, really unusual.
How did you send the x-rays to the other doctors? CD? E-mail attachment, and if so, how did you do this? I am trying to find the answer on this website, I am sure I saw it once of twice...
Feel better!
Hopsital for Special Surgery provided me with a CD of all of my x rays and MRIs.
I saved the x ray on my computer and e mailed it to the surgeons.
Some people that photos of the x ray under bright lite
Pat has some info on the x-ray deal here.

Some offices will have the whole package (software and image) on a disk for you, others will be old school and simply have one plastic hard copy that they will loan to another office.
Thanks, Tin!
