Well after months of battling with my gp and local orthopaedic surgeons I finally was seen by Mr Treacy's team today at the royal orthopaedic hospital. And was massively impressed by the hospital and the staff. And I'm now scheduled for my new BHR on the 21st of november which is perfect for me!
I'm really looking forward to being put right.(it's weird I'm looking forward to major surgery!)
75 days and counting!!!
Congratulations, Danny... Sounds like the hard work paid off, now just to get you right.
Thanks mate, I'm really happy. I feel confident Mr Treacy will put it in right so hopefully I'll get back to my normal self!
Wow, Danny, that's great news for you!!
Seems like you've been fighting the system forever. Due to your tenacity it looks like it's finally going to happen.
Yes it's been a protracted fight but it looks like I've got there at last! And with one of the top surgeons as well. Mind with my age I nerd this to last a long time!!
Excellent job. You should be really proud of yourself for sticking it out both on the research end (I know you've been pretty busy here) and also on the fight to get one of the best surgeons in the world. Not only can you feel good about making this step, you can also feel really good about the progress you've made so far. I have to applaud you.
Thank you for those kind words tin! I've got to say this site has been a total insparation to me and I wouldn't have been able to continue with out the support and story's of progress from you all. Thanks all you hippies out there! I'll be one of you soon!
CELEBRATION!!!! That hard part is over.
Congratulations on a hard fought victory over the system. You can't keep a good man down.
Let the waiting begin...with the end in sight.
Dan
Thanks mate. It does annoy me tho as alot of people won't argue with them and end up not getting the best care like they should.
Great to hear you have your resurfacing scheduled with Mr. Treacy! The time will go by quickly. Stay positive and we will soon be reading about your recovery.
Good Luck.
Pat
Thanks pat and thanks for running this wonderful site! Everyone on here is an inspiration!
Wonderful news! Like Dan says, the hard part is over. I also looked forward to my surgery as others on this forum have. Your friends, family and coworkers may think you are nuts for looking at it that way, but they will never understand what life is like before surgery. You are an inspiration to us! Good job.
Great job brother!
That's great news Danny, I admire your tenacity.

I am so happy your persistence paid off! Really great news! Make use the time until the surgery to get in the best shape you can, so that your recovery will be fast.
Way to fight the good fight Danny! You are on your way and with one of the best surgeons in the world to boot! My hat's off to ya.
