My surgery date and time were confirmed today. Arrive at the hospital at noon and surgery at 2:30. My hip is very excited. Does that time mean I can not eat or drink from midnight the previous night to noon the next day. I am more concerned with having a horrible "lack of caffeine" headache by the time of surgery than I am with no food!
I have to laugh, for whatever reason you brought up a memory.
When I was at my pre-op with Lee, she showed me how bad my x-rays were and shortly afterwards Lee left and Dr. Gross came in. I said "hey Lee gave me the good news that somehow my hip healed itself and the surgery was off" -- he looked at the x-rays and gave me a really strange look and I finally started laughing.
No wonder I found extra alignment pin holes in my leg when I awoke from my surgery.

You won't need caffeine Aerial. You will be so excited they will have to tie you to the operating table.
i would avoid any caffine/coffee ... on my surgery date, they asked my this question upon "check-in". i asked what happens if someone answers "yes" and the nurse said they can and have canceled the surgery and rescheduled for another day. not sure if this happens "all the time" or "only in extreme cases" (but i would not want to find out on my surgery day).
best of luck to you, your surgeon, and a successful recovery!!!
Aerial,
I am excited for you! I'm going on November 30th, but can't seem to generate the same enthusiasm as you have. I'm working on it.
Buddy of mine promised he would see me promptly at 8 AM on December 30th with a real cup of coffee. I think someone should do the same for you. We'll remember that first cup of coffee. It is worth waiting for.
Good luck to you!
Boomer
Aerial-
That is exciting! I know I was thrilled when I finally had my date and time scheduled. I am not a caffeine guy so I was fine. I think you will be fine.
Congrats.
