I went back in the pool on Day 20.  I did 30 minutes of aqua jogging which is great to move the hip socket without pressure.  Then I swam with a pool buoy doing open turns.  It is amazing how weak the hip flexors are after surgery.  I couldn't kick for weeks.

Best wishes.

my doctor said "no pool until the wound was 100% scab free" ... it was probably about day 28.

I waited 5 weeks post op and the pool therapy was a great rehab tool for me. It made for a quicker recovery for me for sure.

How often did you get in the pool initially?

I see the doctor tomorrow and ''when can I get to the pool?'' is the second thing I'm going to ask him.  The first is ''am I cleared to drive?''!

I was cleared to get in the pool at 4 weeks. Started swimming and lots of kicking but did open turns for awhile. Then one day, I knew I'd be able to turn with no problems. The pool really helped with my range of motion.

I just got all new "pool toys" from the swimmers outlet.  I'm so ready to get in the pool.  I always loose things so I stocked up; new kick board, new fins, pull bouy, goggles, mesh bag, two suits and even a floatation belt.  I never owned one of those before, but I think it will be a good way to get these legs moving.

I've just been told to get into a hydro therapy pool ASAP I'm 27 days post op. I think the general rule is once the wound is fully healed.

My doc wants me in the pool 14 days post op.   I am 5 days and think it will be an easy goal.

I did three days a week for 7 weeks. Trust me if my insurance would have paid for it I would have gone everyday.
