Title: Counting Down - Less than one month
Post by: mslendzion on December 11, 2011, 10:31:14 PM
Saw my surgeon last week. I'm feeling really confident, he was great and extremely reassuring.  He has done over 950 BHR's.  I'm ready.

This next month will go fast.  Try to build up your strength while you have time before the surgery.  Work on your upper body, your core and your leg strength.  It will all help with your recovery.

Also, keep reading all the posts about everyone else's recoveries.  You'll see that everyone is different.  Some are easy.  Some are tough.  Some have trouble sleeping and some have other problems that get in the way, but in the long run the vast majority of us end up very happy with our results after we get through the recovery.

Who is your surgeon and where will it be?

Good luck.  With the holidays time will pass quickly.  This board really helped me feel prepared for the surgery.

Like Woodstock said, the month will fly by, especially due to the holidays. Just prep your house for the recuperation (which I'm sure you've already done), get that toothbrush eater to avoid your ice machine and you'll be good. Things will be great and you'll have a great new year to look to.

Mslendzion

You are almost there. It will be over with before you know it and you will be on the road to recovery.

You are having the op at HVSH, right? Just an FYI.  I did little to prep my house prior and purchased all the stuff at the hospital the day I was discharged.  The prices were reasonable and it was just more convenient for me that way.  You end up having to go down there to fill your prescriptions regardless.  So, if you forgot something before the big day, don't worry.  They have anything you may need right there.

Enjoy the Holidays !
