Title: Xarelta
Post by: papalagidiver on December 25, 2011, 03:12:04 PM
Merry Christmas Everyone,

It has been four weeks since the D-Day and it has been going great. The most difficult part of the recovery has been the nausea and dizziness caused by Xarelta.  At some point my daughter said that I should avoid vegetables hight in vitamin K when I am taking blood thinners so I read all the materials my doctor gave me and she was right.  There was list of foods to avoid while on blood thinners. The list included cabbage and broccoli among the others. I was eating huge amounts of cabbage and broccoli and as soon as I stopped eating those, my dizziness slowly disappeared.  Fay days later I was at a family dinner and consumed a huge amount of cabbage again as as experiment and the symptoms returned. Watch your vitamin intake when on Xarelta or cumidin.

Geez, papalagidiver, I have been eating broccoli everyday!  I just posted 'Anticoagulant Confusion' today...

Great info, maybe I'll get my marbles back if I avoid the vitamin K foods!

Thanks.
