This stuff is a joke. I doesn't help much with the pain. I just become Chaty Cathy. Plus I get headaches and stuffed up bowel movements. Does anyone else have this problem? I dont think I need it - I just want to ease the pain when I get up to do PT. The after affects negate the benefits. Any other opinions?
Depends on the pain level - you know to get ahead of it. I was on Tylenol Super Extra ++ and that seemed ok. I was prescribed Oxycodone, but never used it. I just iced the heck out of it after the PT and before.
We like you chatty, though Hip.
Percocet helped me but I hated it before surgery. I took it for the first 2 weeks and slowly tapered off and now just on Extra Strength Tylenol. There's so much other stuff out there - ask your dr for something else that may work better. Tylenol with Codine worked for me before surgery but gave me a rash...LOL!
I prefer Vicodin. It doesn't kill the pain but it takes the edge off and doesn't make me nauseas, give me headaches and itch like crazy like Percocet does. You might like taking a different approach than a pain med and try Valium. It is often used in conjunction with pain meds because it has a muscle relaxing element to it and will help you sleep. Opiates like Vicodin, Percocet, Oxycontin keep me up at night, I'm happy and creative as all hell, and turn me into Chatty Cathy as well.
