Title: dental extraction prior to resurfacing
Post by: geopet00 on June 06, 2012, 05:36:07 PM
does anyone know how long after tooth extraction and antibiotics you can have the resurfacing? My anti biotics will be done 5 days before pre admission testing, and 14 days before scheduled surgery date. Should I try to reschedule or just carry on?

6/8/12 Checked with Doctor, since antibiotic will be done 2 weeks to ten days before and site is healed, he said there should be no problem. Thanks. Will let you know how it goes.

You've got  to check with your doctor.  Good luck with both the dentist and the surgery

Deffo check with your surgeon. They all seem to have different protocols for these things.

Yeah talk to the doc.  I always though this was a little funny though.  As soon as you go in for surgery, you're dosed with antibiotics so why would it matter?  I guess they want your body in reasonably good shape before killing off all your bacteria.   Good luck.
