I am going for corrective surgery in 2 weeks.I had my 2cd hip resurfaced, left leg, 2 1/2 years ago,but have been limping and have had
difficulty raising my left leg while lying down.
A few months ago my surgeon in Birminhan UK sent me for a new type of ultra sound scan and it revealed ,the muscle which was cut in surgery had become detached from the ligament.
I was only using 30% of the muscle and this was my problem.
I am having surgery to connect the muscle to a new artificial ligament.
Has any one else undergone this type of surgery??
Well, I'm sorry you had the problem, but glad that they found the issue and can right it. You deserve a fully functioning hip.
Glad they found the problem and are ready to fix it. You'll have to go through a similar rehab to the first time but then you should be home free.
Good Luck!
I hope you get your problem fixed! Out of interest who was your surgeon in Birmingham?
My surgeon is Mr O'Hara, his practice is in Edgbaston
In that case mark your in EXCELLENT hands!
You certainly are Mark, brilliant there.
Update...
I had my op on July 19,to place an artifial ligament in my hip.
Most of my muscle had become detached after the hip resurface op 2.5 years ago.
Mr. O'Hara my surgeon told me the op was successful and I would need to use crutches for 6 weeks after the surgery.
Recovery is fast and I am getting stronger each day.
Awesome mark keep it up.
Danny
