That's great, Hip. Congratulations on your fight to get back, and congratulations again on your race.
Fantastic story it was a Great read.
Thank you hipnhop. I have fought the beginning of the fight successfully. Here at 6 days post op though I am feeling frustrated. I, like
most,am not used to all the relaxing and relying on others for help. I am feeling better everyday but still have serious pain in my thigh.
I may have pushed my pt to hard the last two days. I know.."patience". Your article and story are just what I needed this
morning.Thanks
and good luck!
Chet
Thanks for putting that together. It is an inspiration to many people with health problems.
I will put part of the story under the athletes stories and a link to your full story if you don't mind.
Need to tell your story to as many folks as possible.
Thanks again for sharing and I hope you have many, many more years on those BHRs.
Pat
No problem Pay, you guys helped me through - big time. Here is my Race report where I talk about Hippy:

Very impressive story. A half IM was the final straw for my hip, and I went from preparing for my first IM to wondering if I would ever walk again. I've put IM out of my mind for a long time - maybe I'll have to re-think that!
Thank's for the inspiration.
Good stuff, HnH. You should be very happy with yourself.
Mate awesome article! It sucks having something you love been torn from you like many of us have had happen, but the thing that would break me more than loosing my sports and lifestyle would be giving up my dog. That must have been the hardest things you've ever done mate.
Thanks for being an inspiration to other hippies!
Danny
Awesome inspiration HnH. I've just sent your blog to a mate who's had his knees done & has a burning desire to do an Iron Man. Cheers for posting.

Hip, you should be seriously proud. The race was a great accomplishment, but the writeup just tore me up. Good job, man.
That was the most touching and inspirational piece I've read in the year and a half since I was diagnosed.
Great story. Amazing how many doctors told us we would never run again.
Mate, you are a legend. Thanks for writing and posting, amazing stuff!
Wow what a great story and Congrats - makes me think about my little bike races as - so what!.... Great Great story and again - "WOW"
