Title: 4 months out - just got back from 6 days at Disneyworld
Post by: Dee Dee on September 25, 2012, 08:57:30 AM
:) 4 months ago I could not walk around the block most days. Now, I regularly walk 1.5 miles(wish I could do more) BUT

I just got back from 6 days at Disneyworld with my hubby, 17 yo daughter and her friend!!!

We made it through and my new hip did great.  I did use pain meds because of my back issues(spondilolisthesis), and sleeping was tough on the hotel bed. I ended up taking my shoe inserts out because they were too much for my arches being on my feet that long. Knees were aching, feet were sore, back was trying to flare up, but I rode all the coasters, watched a lot of shows, traversed the parks for about 10 hours each day.  Went to Downtown Disney 2 nights.

Hint- I got the Guest Assistance Card which allowed our group to use the fast pass lane so I did not have to stand in the regular lines.  My daughters friend has a blown Achilles' tendon, was in a boot and ended up needing a wheel chair by day 2. So we each flashed our cards going through the lines.  It helped tremendously.  I don't think the trip would have been so great if we had to stay in the regular lines.  I know my back would have

I think I did for being overweight and out of shape!!  I am a happy hippy!

That's great Dee! Some of the best 'Aha!' times are when you do something easily that would never have happened before the procedure.
