Title: Brief running update
Post by: MaryEllen on April 16, 2013, 09:25:06 AM
I apologize for just disappearing... when things are going well, I tend to keep quiet! I've been running (run/walk) for about 7 weeks now, in prep for a 10k on May 18th.  Things are going very well-- no pain in either hip at all!   I'm 4 months out from my second (R) hip. I'm thrilled with my success! I plan on running the 10k "to finish", meaning with no time goal. (this is tough for me... I'm very competitive with myself).

It sounds great.  Much easier when you go easier.  Best of luck with your race!

Good Luck!  only 4 months out huh?  I was told to wait a year before any running.  Wish I got the six month doctor lol

Yes, I jumped the gun. I really went slow with my running, and I am lucky. Would I recommend this? Probably not. But I did it with my left hip too. I'm not saying it's right for everyone or anyone for that matter. It's just something I chose to do!!
