I just walked a half mile without crutches for the first time!
I wanted to share my accomplishment with people who would understand what a big deal it is to simply walk again without pain. The posts I've read here have helped me not get hung up on being a turtle with my recovery - thank you.

Congrats Christina
Several weeks ago, I too shared your euphoria in how much fun it is to rediscover walking - here's wishing you become a high mileage lady!
It feels grat to be "normal" at certain things!
Was that without cane or cane for some minor support?
Onwards and upwards as you overcome previous limitations
Congrats. Keep up the good work. It is amazing how many things you will soon take for granted but on the way they will all be milestones at some point.

Congratulations! Yes, we hippies can understand the sense of satisfaction that comes from little things, like walking unassisted and without pain. While we are recovering it seems like progress comes slowly, but if you stick to Dr. Gross' regimen you will be amazed how quickly you will be able to return to the activities you enjoy. Best wishes for continued success!
Excellent, Christina! nothing is small when you're coming back from OA.
Christina, Congrats - I am now 4 weeks post-op and am just about to transition from the cane. I am looking forward to joining you and walking implement free! Great job again, Jeff
Congrats indeed! I do remember how happy I was to walk freely without pain; I bawled like a baby!! So happy for you!! Here's to many more wonderful walks!
Congrats!! I know the feeling. I am 7 weeks out and ditched the cane finally at 6 weeks. What a great feeling. One more step to freedom!!
Great Job!
Those are moments worthy of celebration. Pat yourself on the back and keep the positive mojo going!
I remember my first walk without crutches after my first BHR, like you it was a half mile with my two dogs. I normally walk alot routinely, but there was nothing more memorable (in a positive vein) than that first walk.
Keep it going.
Best rgards,
dan
Congratulations Christina
It just keeps getting better from here!
I share your excitement. After 2 weeks I was allowed to drive. After 3 weeks I got rid of the walker. After 5 weeks got rid of cane. Was just given the go ahead to live my life as my body my body will let me. What a wonderful feeling. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!
