Title: Face planted! But protected the hip!
Post by: Juno on February 14, 2014, 10:31:05 AM
Down I fell on black ice in the driveway. Felt myself slip and all I could think of was "protect the new hip". Landed no my knee and then face. Ouch!! I have a bruise left cheek bone and chin-- I'll probably have a black eye in a few hours. Thinking I will be looking like Rocky Babola for a few days. But, the hip is ok!!! :) yikes!

Juno, thankful you are bruised but ok. The ice and snow has been brutal, I crashed heavily on ice on my MTB and cracked my femur. Not recommended! I use YakTrax on my shoes for walking on the snow and ice, they work very well. Take care.

Yikes Juno! Sounds like a colorful outcome. After the first six months, we've had plenty of hippies face / hip / all sorts of stuff plant and be good.

Take care, also dealing with black ice here.

Yikes, sorry to hear of your nasty fall, but hopefully you'll bounce back quickly from that and thank goodness the hips are ok.
