Title: 12 week update and Tree pose
Post by: Juno on March 08, 2014, 08:46:58 AM
I am now 12 weeks post left HR --- all is going well. Finally able to roll onto the operated side and get a good sleep there. Walking at least 10,000 steps a day (wearing my FitBit), spinning 3-4x a week, swimming once a week and doing strength class. I started back to my "gentle" yoga class 2x a week -- boy those stretches feel so good. My ROM is slowly improving, but I can see that obtaining my pre-OA ROM is going to take some time (quite possible a few years) to achieve. I was very flexible and had very open hip joints.

That said -- life is good and I have no pain. What a Godsend both physically and emotionally.

I've tried to attach a picture of me doing tree pose at this weeks yoga class. I didn't think I could do the full expression of the posture, but that left hip bent just fine and the foot came right up. AND, yes I am balancing strong and straight while the right HR (done in July) is supporting me well. To me, this is nothing short of miraculous :)
