I've posted before on my surgery, recovery & return to athletic activity. Here is another amazing update: Last year in Sept. (10mos post op) I competed in a Sprint Triathlon winning my age group. That qualified me for USAT Olympic Triathlon Age Group National Championships which I participated in this past weekend. I didn't do well compared to all 3000 athletes. I finished in the bottom 10% but I pr'd (2:56) the course. In perspective, that still puts me in the top 100 of those in my age group (60-64) in the nation! Honestly, I completely forgot about my hip the entire time and just competed and had a great time! These were hard core athletes competing for a slot at World Championships and I am no where near that category. However, I do know that if I chose to compete for a slot and step up the training to that level, I could do it w/o giving my hip a second thought. I am truly blessed. Thank you, Dr. Brooks!
Well done - mightily impressive.

What an incredible, inspirational, success story. Great job. I'm sure it is the result of a very dedicated rehab program following your resurfacing.
Top 100 in the nation and how many of those have a prosthesis? Congrats!
Thanks all, it's been a great experience so far exceeding expectations. That is exactly why I opted for this procedure.
