Hi
I just wanted to tell people that I try to read all the posts. Sometimes I miss new members surgeries and old members anniversaries. All the milestones are very important and I am so glad this is such a friendly and supportive group.
I have been running my website and this discussion group since 2005. Sometimes I just like to get away from the computer for awhile and spend some time away from hip resurfacing. Fishing and boating are my way of relaxing. Not always a 3g signal out there, so I miss a few posts now and then.
It does not mean that I don't care because I do care about every member and their stories. I think a group like this really relies on posts from the members who are patients or are about to become patients. I was a patient once, almost 9 years ago. I have forgotten a lot and went overseas to Dr. De Smet. My story is posted http://www.surfacehippy.info/belgium&mybhrebook.php (http://www.surfacehippy.info/belgium&mybhrebook.php) So I really rely on current patients to keep everyone up to date about their doctors and surgery protocols.
I just want to make sure new people don't feel left out since I don't post a great deal any more. I still read your stories and keep you in my thoughts. I also, personally, approve every new member.
Hip Resurfacing is still a great option!

Pat,
You certainly deserve some quality R and R time. Thank you from all of us that have been helped so much by this site, for the incredible amount of research information that it contains, and for creating and maintaining a wonderful place for people to come together and support each other.
All the best to one of the best,
John
Pat - This site was priceless for me in the early days of recovery. All hippies past, present and future owe you a huge amount of gratitude for setting it up and maintaining it. Enjoy your time off and no need to feel in the least bit guilty. Thanks to you we have a strong and resilient online community.
Pat: your site led me to contact Koen De Smet. Just for that it's worth its weight in gold! But mainly you provide some much needed counterbalance to the undue disregard given to resurfacing that has taken root in many other channels.
Thanks so much Pat. A huge hug goes out to you!!!
Nice picture.
Pat, no worries, you've saved me from many hours of needless worry. You're a godsend.
When I need time out I go fishing on my boat on the Norfolk Broads on my own. The big attraction is nobody can contact me. I totally get what you do.
Keep up the great work Pat.
