Just back from my surgeon for 1 year checkup. X-rays shows it's good as gold and my other hip has plenty of cartilage. Questioned whether I can run on it and was advised high impact running not recommended, advised not to bungy jump ( no plans to). See you in 10 years unless I need to see him anyway. Thanked him for this life changing prcedure.Celebrated with a 35 km bike ride and plan to belt out 80+ ks tomorow. Life post surgery is great.all I can say is thank god for modern medicine.
Awesome news. I'll be in the Avenue soon with Andrew Shimmin but by the sound of your post, the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group are the 'go to' guys down here. Can't wait so thanks for the update.
Mate if you want to run get yourself a pair of hoka trainers! They have a huge amount of cushioning in them and it feels like your running on clouds!! :)
Hoka One Ones are amazing shoes. I switched to the last year and was able to continue running, even with bad hips.
Yep in my opinion there the best shoes for hoppes to run in.
Congrats on the 1st....
Congrats! I totally agree about how much praise we should give modern medicine and our Drs! Here's to many more active years!

It's simply magic. 105 km bike ride in warm weather was great.pulled up,ok next day.leg strength and endurance can only get better. Andrew Schimmin and Stepehn McmAhon are amongst the best with people travelling from interstate to see them.
