Title: Bilateral HR with Dr. Raterman 2018
Post by: Dutch123 on April 25, 2018, 08:52:51 AM
Thanks Pat.
One week out.  I have 2 zero gravity chairs. Thinking this will be the sleeping place.  I will make the ice/alcohol bags as suggested by a site member (remembering to use a barrier between skin and ice.) I have 2 pressure cuffs for legs. Walker and cane! oh my.  I have lodging and transportation to and from.  Everything all squared at work. Rehab person coming to residence 3x a week?  I have meds, perc, ecotrin, and tramodol (sp). Guess stool softener this wekend.  Also, they gve me an antibacterial soap to begin use 3 days prior to surgery.

Am I forgetting anything?

Thanks
Dave

Okay +2 days. Walking with walker every 90 min. Realized not to take narcotics then walk.  No , I did not attempt. Ven Pro on both legs. Icing 20 min maybe twice an hr. No bowel movement . I could take the colace and have one but am concerned about the logistics. Thoughts ? Home therapy starts Monday.

Hi Dutch

I moved your post op posts to the Bilateral HR Stories.  That way people are able to read the special bilateral stories that people post and update.

I hope you did not mind.  I try to make the subject titles so people know what surgeon you used and when you had your hip resurfacing.

I wish the best and am looking forward to your updates.

Pat

Yes.. that was not a pleasant experience. 3 colace, coffee and prunes. However, it was extremely uncomfortable with the position. I was in a odd locked position not up amd not down holding the rails of the toilet seat assist. It has now been 10 days post. That aspect of the rehab is easier. Standing straight is a daily reminder. My therapist keeps reminding me to stand tall. My hip tilt up a bit- up as in butt up. It has to do with weaker muscles. I can stand weight bearing. Using walker. Follow up is later this week
