Title: H1 - 4.5 year update
Post by: fastboy64 on March 26, 2022, 11:03:53 AM
Big breakthrough today at Great Denham parkrun - finally got back under 20 for 5k   8)
Took me 4.5 years post op with a renewed focus on run training thanks to Coach Parry faster beyond fifty.
Dropped from 71.5 kg to 65.3 kg has helped.
My H1 hip continues to behave perfectly despite the hard training.
The real satisfaction from today is that my age graded at 78.8% is now getting close to my best pre OA and hip surgery - a nice indicator, 3 months from 58th birthday, that a hip implant need not be a barrier to improvement.

Well done David - great to hear the H1 is working well, it is a pity that the trials have paused for assessment of the single revision there has been. Coach Parry videos are good, I will seek out the faster beyond 50 (do they do faster beyond 70?). I too have managed to better my 5k percentage from 11 years ago, just over 73% for 24:25 with a pair of fake hips - and last week matched your 78.8% by not counting the rests when doing 660m intervals to 22:40 5k. They were long rests...
