Has anyone had a resurfacing on the NHS? If so are they all MOM? I am 34, if i live to 80 i may need multiple revisions. It makes a resurfacing the only viable option.
Also who are the most experienced surgeons in the UK? Ideally i would not want MOM. Any idea of their private costs?
Read my story! From Autoazure. I had an NHS Resurfacing done in Glasgow doe by Professor Meek. I had the Adapt system MOM as the long-term data for other types is not long enough! At 65 I am now running 55 miles per week and have returned to races! My metal ion levels are absolutely normal. Prof Meek also does Private resurfacings!
Pat JUST posted this article about a metal on "vitamin E crosslinked polyethylene" device:

However.........in the hands of very experienced surgeons, the MOM devices last a VERY long time. I wouldn't write it off entirely. Unless you're prone to metal allergies, a MOM device properly installed won't wear.
