Title: 8 months post-op still can't do stairs
Post by: gray horse on July 06, 2022, 11:58:28 AM
I'm having problems doing stairs, bending at the hip to shave my leg, lifting my leg out to the side. Pain in quad / thigh. Has anyone been through this?

No. Muscles take time to strengthen, but you should have been able to do these things long ago. Have you worked with a physical therapist? Or spoken with your surgeon? I can't know exactly how you're feeling, but my first inkling is that it's a strength/pt issue. But if you've been working with a PT, and have regained your strength and flexibility, I would speak with my surgeon. Good luck.

The last thing I was able to do was cross my foot to my leg to put on sock/shoes, but that was at about 4 months.  I'm not a Dr but this doesn't sound right.  I hope it's just a muscle/PT thing as Cat suggested but to be on the safe side I'd call your surgeon.

Just an update. About 10 days ago I was sitting in my car and twisted / leaned over the console to get something from the passenger seat...and clunk , clunk  :'(

I dislocated! I'm headed for a THR once I can get a surgery date. Living in a knee immobilizer until then. So my revision did not go as planned.

Wow. That really blows. I wish you the best of luck.
