Title: Help in finding a country for Hip resurfacing
Post by: Nychary on July 13, 2023, 03:25:06 AM
Hello! I am seeking advice and assistance.

I am a 37-year-old woman in need of hip replacement surgery. After conducting research, I have discovered that hip resurfacing may be a more suitable option for me. I consulted with my surgeon, and he concurred with this recommendation. Unfortunately, hip resurfacing procedures are not performed in my current country of residence, Thailand. I have attempted to locate surgeons in Singapore and Malaysia, but many clinics have informed me that they do not offer hip resurfacing as well.

Could you kindly recommend a country where I can undergo this procedure? While Asia is my preferred region, I am open to considering other countries.

Dr. deSmet in Belgium and Drs. Gross and Pritchett in the US both perform resurfacings on women. There's a section on this website dedicated to women and resurfacing. You might look there for more stories and references.

Nychary,

I was considering Thailand and did find some surgeons in Thailand that were doing Hip Resurfacing. Unfortunately, when I researched the names of the surgeons I was unable to find any information regarding their experience [Very Important].  Being that you speak Thai you could probably contact the surgeons directly for more information.  DO NOT have have Hip Resurfacing with an inexperienced surgeon.

Good Luck!
