I have knee tendonitis and other issues that the plate helps but a little concerned with the vibration. I am over 1 year post op now.
Hi,
I remember seeing a post from Mr McMinn where he had a patient damage his resurfacing by using a vibrating plate (the acetabular component loosened and shifted) and he basically banned the use of them. It might be on his website.
Pete
Also De Smet's physio said dont use it. You can strenghten knee with rubber bands and balance board, bosu ball and then leg extension machine..
Dan,
I'll be 6 years post bi-lateral this summer and 69 y/o. Have a few occasional aches and pains that may or may not be soft tissue strain and when they get problematic I get out the Thumper. It's a hand held percussive massage tool, run it over the problem areas and find it works out the kinks that stretching and exercise don't. Doubt it's as aggressive as the plate you referred to and gets the job done without jeopardizing the rest of me. Been using it since about 9 months after surgery.
