Hey everyone. I hope all are well. I was reflecting on the early days of my surgery and came back to this site to let everyone know that I am still racing. Fourteen years post op and things are going well, back to running a 9/Min Mile half marathon. Please keep advocating for the procedure that will allow you to stay as active as you want. God Bless!
Congratulations Ed. Thank You for sharing your update. Your story is so impressive. I know people wanting to learn about hip resurfacing will read your story. I appreciate you taking time to stop by and give us an update. I updated your original story on the main website. https://surfacehippy.info/ed-ironman-hip-resurfacing-dr-rankin-2011/ (https://surfacehippy.info/ed-ironman-hip-resurfacing-dr-rankin-2011/) Thanks again. I wish you the best. Pat
Thanks for the motivation. 2.5 weeks post MoM with Dr. Gross. I'm a 61 yr old former IM, half IM, Olympic triathlon and marathon weekend athlete over the years, but with mostly a lot of bike riding and walking in the past 5-10 years due to what I belatedly realized was advanced hip degeneration. Your story is inspiring.
Yay, keep it going! Which hardware do you have installed out of curiosity?
Grey to hear! I’ve tried reaching out to you on social media also.
In 2019 you said in a post you felt your hip was failing and it was near the end? Did it hold up or did you have a revision? If not what was the problem?
