Title: Dr. Hartford in Palo Alto
Post by: pkcal on September 23, 2008, 08:12:28 PM
Has anyone had a resurface done by Dr. Hartford in Palo Alto (or Dr. Lannin)?  These docs do surgeries as a team with one being the lead.  Together they have performed about 130 BHRs.....but as the lead, only about 65 each.  Is this relative lack of experience something I should be worried about?  Thanks for any help

I visited Dr. Lannin in July regarding hip resurfacing.  He seems to be a very knowledgeable physician; however, I took the advice of Vicky and others and went with experience, experience, experience.  I ended up going to Dr. Ure in Mt. Shasta and am one week post-op.

I live six hours from Mt. Shasta, but even the ride home was not too bad.  The surgery went very well, and the care you receive at Mt. Shasta is wonderful. Also, the hip class is very informative.  I met others from Sonoma to Susanville that were having resurfacing within the week with Dr. Ure.  They come from all over.

I'm sure that Dr. Hartford and Dr. Lannin are great surgeons; I just wanted more experience.
