The new 2008 Australian National Joint Registry report is now available. I have it listed in full and also made a summary page with the main information about hip resurfacing.

It has a lot of very interesting information about hip resurfacing including:
The BHR remains the most used prosthesis accounting for 54.5% of all total resurfacing procedures in 2007 in the study.
Males and females with a femoral component head size greater than 50mm have a similar seven year cumulative percent revision
At seven years the cumulative percent revision is 4.6% for total resurfacing hip replacement compared to 3.4% for conventional total hip replacement
The full study is posted here http://www.surfacehippy.info/pdf/NJRRAnnRep08.pdf (http://www.surfacehippy.info/pdf/NJRRAnnRep08.pdf)
I thought everyone would be interested.
