Title: How old is your first BHR?
Post by: bothdone on January 06, 2009, 03:50:09 PM
Hi

I was wondering when people on here had their first BHR and how they are getting on with it.

I had my left BHR in May 2004 so it will be 5 years old this year.   I have no problems with it so far, and no regrets.

So...

How old is your first BHR?
Have you noticed any changes with it over the years?
Who has the oldest one here?

Thanks.

Best wishes for 2009 (and onwards)

Ed

Hi Ed

Congratulations on the 5 year old BHR.

Mine will be 3 years old on March 15.

I guess maybe we should ask how old is your hip resurfacing since some people did not get BHRs, but Wright c+, Biomet, Cormets, etc.

I think we should let them comment too.

If you check out the Survery of 855 hip resurfacing patients from the Yahoo Surface Hippy, you can see there are a handful with some old resurfacings.  http://www.surfacehippy.info/survey/hipresurfacingsurvey.php (http://www.surfacehippy.info/survey/hipresurfacingsurvey.php)

Mine hasn't changed except there is less clunking than in the beginning and my incision doesn't itch much any more.  It still does sometimes, but I have very sensitive skin.

I have a story from a McMinn Patient that got hers over 16 1/2 years ago  http://www.surfacehippy.info/katieellis91.php (http://www.surfacehippy.info/katieellis91.php)

Maybe I will put a poll up for us to determine who has the oldest one.
