Is it possible I might not clunk?

I feel like I'm being fairly active for 4 days PO. I haven't felt anything remotely like any looseness in this joint. Certainly have not heard anything. Does everyone experience clunking at some point or another?

     No.  Pat did a poll some time back and there were numbers that did not get any at all.  Should still be on here somewhere if you poke around.  I never had any clunking feelings or noise (so far).  Seems to come and go with some based on tightness and activity level.

Like Curt mentioned, not all, but if you ever do get it, it's very normal.

I think at 4 days post-op, there's still a lot of swelling in there keeping it tight.  I didn't notice the clunking until about 4-5 weeks.  Now, I feel it with some frequency, mostly when standing still and shifting weight. No big deal.

I got clicking / clunking at 2 weeks post op and backed off exercises that made it click. I'm sure it was the result of over doing my exercises much too early. You'll find it's very common and nothing to get concerned about if you do get it - provided it's not really painful. Mine only lasted about a week.

I clunked like crazy with my first hip;, the second, not a peep. I have no clue.

Hi, I am amost 2 years out. I never "clunked" right after surgery. Then, about 6 months out, I would feel and hear a slight sound when after bending over and staightening up. That went on for about a year (never hurt or bothered me much, and thanks to this website, I didn't worry about it) and this last 6 months or so, I have not felt or heard it since. Hope this info helps, I'm doing great overall! Lu
