Skiing in Utah
« on: March 02, 2013, 09:20:31 PM »
I had a chance to take a week's vacation and ski with my 19 and 23 year-old sons this past week.  Although I had already skied 5 times this winter in the Adirondacks of NY state (and this made it 5 times since my right hip resurfacing in October of 2011), I was a little nervous about going for 5 days of skiing in Utah with 2 young, athletic sons!  No worries- we skied 5 out of 6 days at Park City, Canyons, Alta and Snowbird.  We hit moguls, skied the trees, the basins and canyons, the powder and the warmed up crud- no problem for the hip.  The rest of my body was tired and a little sore each day, but we hit the jacuzzi each evening to unwind and slept like babies every night!  Thanks to Dr. Gross for making this all possible!

Steve - well done, sounds like you had a brilliant time.

I've missed skiing for 4+ years but have promised to try again in spring 2014.

Like you say, it's all thanks to our truly brilliant hip resurfacing surgeons.
