Are we all broccoli haters? Here's a different study. I'm not convinced.

I have decided to come out as a broccoli lover.

There, I said it - I am a bi-hippy and a broccoli lover.

It's a secret shame that I've lived with for at least fifty years, putting paid to all studies.

In my hidden life as a broccoli lover, I've come to see that it was in fact was a gateway vegetable. It has led me to peas, bok choi and (gasp!!   :o  ) worst of all, BRUSSEL SPROUTS!

It has supplanted potatoes, wheat and worst of all for a latin american - rice. I may be dumped from all latin clubs for that admission, but I long to live in the open as a proud, vegetable loving latin bi-hippy....

 ;D

I'm sure that it is helpful, and healthy eating to avoid OA is a definite positive. Anything that could help people avoid it is a plus.

Lol, congratulations on coming out Hern!!  ;D

I genuinely like broccoli and sprouts. I'm not sure either are any prevention for arthritis though ... especially with people like myself who have dysplasia. Surely its the shape of my joint which has caused arthritis and no matter how much broccoli I ate, the arthritis would still have come along.... but as you say, you cant go wrong with healthy eating!

I love Broccoli, but it sure knocks down my INR since I take warfrin for my heart valve.  I just eat it and take more warfrin!

I started a poll because this is very important stuff!   :P

:) I do so love the greens and the cruciferous family!  I haven't heard the arthritis allegations, but I have flogged broccoli etc. to my pre-diabetic friends as bio-available selenium and magnesium helps regulate blood sugar in a way supplements cannot, also good source of lutein, carotenoids and the pro-immune system modulators. Oh, plus I like it, always have.

Yes, Hernanu, it's a gateway vegetable!  I'm an addict.

My wife loves it, but I hate it.  But we stay married anyway.

Great question, Anna! How was your Thanksgiving/Turkey Day? I traveled to Baltimore Maryland, about 500 miles, and my behind is still not happy about that trip, but it was wonderful to get away.

Hern, you are a hoot!!! My Sig. Other and I eat broccoli often and he loves it. I secretly am not so fond of it, but it eat it anyway because it is touted to be good for me, or for all of the reasons Denise gave :-)  Oh, and by the way, I like brussel sprouts a lot less than broccoli. However, my sister roasts them in the oven and they are much more tasty cooked that way...

Take care.
