10 days post op wow it feels like mine
« on: August 29, 2013, 01:46:35 PM »
10 days post op and I am very pleased,  off all pain killers today and the movement is around 50 %  generally the  pain is gone just normal scare tissue twinges . Doing exercises as per instruction and every day it gets better . Very pleased . I do get tired and concentrating is hard for more then 20 mins . I am on 2 crutches and as much as you may think you don't need them you do , 2 or 3 steps without them and you are not stable at all.  Hope my record helps I know I was and am still hungry for info on what happens next.  I think being fit and continuing weight lifting up to operation day has helped me I feel strong in my quads and  straight lifts and walking is good because of the strength I carried into the operation .

Monday it's 24 staples out after that should be left alone to get better and stronger.

All sounds very positive. Perhaps I will get down to the gym tomorrow.

I am not a natural gym bunny - prefer chasing a ball around. I know I will need to get in there during my recuperation and, as you say, a bit of conditioning may help in the early days post-op.

Keep up the good work!

Well done Chris, getting off the pain meds is a big step in the recovery.
Keep a stick for as long as it takes to get your walking nice and straight. You're going well.
