Recommendations for calcium intake?
« on: October 06, 2013, 11:39:09 AM »
I've seen a recommendation to consume 1500mg per day for good bone health. I understand you can achieve that with a combination of diet and supplements. Does anyone have any real-world advice on how to get the right levels? I've seen various pieces of information on the web but it's lacking in specifics.
Thanks.

I asked McMinn if I could take anything to help my bones regrow and he said eat red meat.

Hmmmm ... I'm mostly vegetarian, eat red meat maybe twice a year. That's the first time I've heard of a medical professional recommending it, isn't it supposed to be bad for you in all sorts of other ways? I'll stick to the cheese and ice cream.

I think you will find that red meat is only bad for minor things like hearts and large intestines.
