« on: October 14, 2013, 07:17:34 PM »
Hi there,
Anyone used one of these icing machines.
Polar 300 $199 Aus  dollars and Polar 500 $299.
One delivers 6-8 hours and the 8-11 hours or ice therapy.
Will see  if surgeon recommends on Monday 21 .
Are you still icing your hip 6 months down the track
Cheers

I used the Polar Care 300 and was happy with it.  Everyone is different but I had very little swelling, and only used my ice machine for the first 3 weeks -- but it was a lifesaver during that time.

Ok then so well worth the investment. Hopefully being a private hospital they will provide it , however if not for the sake of a couple of 100 dollars and if it aids recovery process well worth the investment. Not worth spending an extra $100 for the bigger unit. My health provider doesn't cover it . The girl didn't even know what it was . It sure pays to be well prepared:)
