The confidence will come, sootie - you've dealt with a lot, so it's understandable. Keep at your own pace, things will come out good.

Sootie,

What device is your revision?  Were you a candidate for a mid-head revision?  Did you get a large head MOM or another type of bearing surface?

I'm just curious......you don't have to provide that info if you don't want to.....

hi guys,

just a quick update on my progress since my last post.saw my surgeon for a check up lastweek after 7 weeks post op.said he was happy with progress considering the damage that was done. the main area of concern is the hip abductor muscle,he had to cut away a lot of damaged tissue around that area.worst case scenario could be a limp.

i am walking and exercising regularly ,quite a lot of soreness around joint and groin area but i am going thru the pain barrier to keep mobile in the hope i can get my life back to normal.i feel my life has been put on hold for the last number of years, not only have i had revision surgery on my left hip which lasted just over three years but i had my right one done Nov 2011. (sorry for  the moan just feeling a bit vulnerable right now i am sure there are lots of people less fortunate than me)

so guys please keep me in your thoughts and prayers  regards sootie

Hey sootie, happy to hear from you! Sounds like the prosthesis is taking well. The good thing about muscle is that it can regenerate. Take it slow and hopefully all of it comes back for you. I'm thinking and wishing good things for you.

Hey Sootie, groaning is definitely allowed, but keep as postive as you can and keep pressing for the best recovery you can achieve.  You certainly deserve it, so we are all pulling hard for you.  Hang in there.

If I could put a little oil on your hip to help you ease through the pain barrier, I would.  I'm doing what you're doing, pushing through pain while still trying not to overdo and inflame it!

How is your activity plan ratio to the 'right' amount of rest, (whatever that is), working out?  To me, it seems like a tough tension between the two that I'm still in process of figuring out.

Good Sunday Night, Sookie.
