I am 59, and the op was Nov. 09 We had a lot of snow and ice here after my op and in the UK we are not very well geared up for clearing the pavements so I couldn’t walk much outside. I think that might have kept me on the crutches for a longer time. I had a good physio and did the exercises she gave me. I had steristrips and a waterproof dressing so could shower from day 1.
The replacement is a Mitch Per bone conserving mini-hip replacement developed by Mr. Field and Prof. Rushton ( Cambridge)http://www.stanthonys.org.uk/Specialised_procedures/hip_resurfacing.html The surgeon for my op was Mr. Field at St Anthony’s Cheam Surrey.
