Wright C+ Dr. Mont December 11, 2006
December 21, 2006
Can’t get too technical but I just had the anterior (lateral) approach last week by Dr. Mont. He explained to me that this is his preference and in over 600 procedures only 1 has not worked to expectation. He is very precise and only cuts through gluteus minimus. I am 10 days post-op and feel great, I move around on 1 crutch very well. He has specific ROM precautions but expect full recovery with no limitations by 3-4 months. I am very satisfied. Each surgeon will have their personal comfort level. I think the approach is less important than the experience and success of the surgeon. I have about a 8-10 incision lateral aspect of hip.Email direct for any more questions. Glad to answer.
Pat you can add any info from me that you want. I am so happy I had it done. Jeremy from Baltimore age 32. Right Hip resurfaced by Dr. Mont on 12/11/06. Wright Conserve Plus.
I feel GREAT! Best decision I have made. Thanks for so much advise and support from the group. I will recommend Mont to anyone.
Oct 9, 2006It is amazing that there are so many supportive people going through the same issues. I am excited to be a member. My name is Jeremy, I live in Baltimore, MD and I am very fortunate to have a surgeon (I think) who is part of the Corin Group trial about 3 miles from my house. I am 31 years old and have terrible OA in my R Hip for 3 years. No mechanism or reason just progressive OA in the hip. I have seen 3 orthos, all recommend a THR but due to my age have said to put if off as long as possible. I had a “Debridement surgery” last year by a surgeon recommended on the THR web group (Marc Hungerford). We had hoped that would help with ROM and pain for a couple years but it only benefited me for 6 months. I have had multiple cortisone injections. My quality of life is awful when it comes to exercise, getting around and trying to play with my very energetic 3 year old. Anyway my question for the group is:
1)Has anyone had the Corin Hip Procedure done.
2)Since it is still in clinical trial does it depend on the insurance company whether they will cover it or not?
3)I am going to an open seminar by Dr. Jacobs (Corin Surgeon) in Baltimore next week.
Any helpful questions I can ask ahead from those that have had it done?
Thanks sorry for the long message, Jeremy
