I found out I qualified for as an age-grouper for Team GB in the world aquathlon champs in Pontevedra, Spain in May 2019. I passed the one year postop landmark feeling strong and ready to crank-up the run training. I have just completed my first run race for over 5 years and managed 21:32 for 5k – not at all fast but going in the right direction.

I’ve just got back from the 2019 Pontevedra ITU Aquathlon World Championship race for male 55-59 Age Group.
What an amazing experience – loved it!
I placed 36/40 in my age group race – 1K open water swim then transition into 5K run.
