I “retired” from running in 2008 and then
“retired” from cycling in 2009. I’m having surgery 2/4/10 by Dr. Su
at the Hosp for Special Surgery in NY. I’m 56 as well and was very
active and fit until 2008 (ran 40-50m/week). I chose a very
experienced doctor (1,000 plus surgeries) and the hospital is one of
the best in the nation.
The reality for me is that I’ve lost a few… Read the rest
I would like to commend Dr. Su for giving
me my life back. I’ve lived with an arthritic right hip for about 5
years until a friend of mine told me about the wonderful world of
hip resurfacing and Dr. Su in particular. I was skeptical about the
whole thing, but I decided to investigate the process. I liked what
I heard and as a result had hip resurface surgery on 7/8/2010.
After a rough … Read the rest

My experience with a bilateral hip resurfacing with Dr Edwin Su.
I am 52 years old and on January 3, 2011 I had surgery to repair
both hips. I have been physically active my entire life, and
exercised 3 to 4 days per week including both cardio and weight
training. I played ice hockey in college, and continued to play

riding my bike regularly. I … Read the rest

I am a 52 year old female and had right hip resurfacing at the Hospital for Special Surgeries on July 6, 2007 with Dr. Edwin Su. Prior to that surgery I had had arthroscopic surgery to my right hip in 2002 for a labral tear that I had probably had for 30 years. I was a gymnast in college and had on and off pain since then. After the arthroscopic surgery at the HSS I

The arthritis pain is
I’m 52 years old and had surgery last year, on December 13, 2007. My surgeon was Dr. Su at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. It was my left hip, a BHR.Admittedly, I was quite freaked for the three months leading up to the surgery. I’ve always been very athletic and active and felt pretty much indestructible. Just a year earlier, I didn’t even know I had a problem with my hip joint.
I’m 10 days out of bi lateral hip resurfacing with Dr. Su. Can’t say enough good
things about Dr. Su.My hips feel strong enough to stand with no issues and no crutches 7 days out.
Post surgery, he told me my hips were a mess, and I had pretty big cuts, around
14 inches per leg. I went on a strong natural product regiment right out of
surgery, only taking pain killers for a few … Read the rest
